Swimming Pool

The necessary repairs to the swimming pool are progressing well. The repairs needed were more extensive than first appeared. The damaged concrete has been removed, rebar has been installed and the concrete has been poured back in place. As the concrete cures, we will be cleaning out the concrete residue in preparation to paint the pool floor. Once painted, the paint will be allowed to cure for 7 days prior to filling the pool. After the pool is filled and the pumps are started, we will stabilize the chemicals in the pool prior to opening. Barring any complications, our planned opening timeframe will be June 25 -26. We apologize for the delay, but the issues had to be addressed. We appreciate your patience while the work is being done.

Aquatic weed harvester

As most of you have seen, the aquatic weed harvester has been busy around the lake. We have been to each cove and are currently back in the NW cove to finish up. After we finish up there, we will move back to the SW cove to finish the weed clean up. As you may have seen the type of weed growing in the lake is changing and we are currently seeing more of the weed called coontail. You can look on the Beaver Lake website at the Aquatic weed program to see what types of weeds that we are dealing with. We will continue to work in the areas as dictated by the growth rate of the weeds. We appreciate everyone’s patience as we work on the aquatic weeds.

SW cove culvert replacement project

The replacement of the culverts in the SW cove is progressing very well. There have been a few delays due to rain events, but we’re happy to have the moisture and increase the lake level.

The contractor is currently removing the old culverts and preparing the area for the relocation of the water and sewer mains. Upon completion of the water and sewer relocation, the dirt will be put back in place and compacted in preparation for the construction of the new box culverts. As the contractor moves forward, we will keep you up to date on the next step of the project. We appreciate everyone staying away from the site as the construction progresses. It is a dangerous area, so please remind your children not to go to that area. It is exciting to see the project moving along as this is a great enhancement for the development of Beaver Lake.
